Services: The Inyo County Wellness Centers provide free drop-in services, including showers, laundry facilities, kitchen access, phones, and computers for anyone during designated drop-in hours. Located in Bishop and Lone Pine, the centers also offer case management, peer support, workshops, and wellness activities that help individuals and families access housing, employment, healthcare, and other community resources. Services are available year-round, with priority given to individuals experiencing serious mental illness, homelessness, or other barriers to accessing support, while drop-in services are available to everyone.

Services: Crossroads Recover Center Rental Assistance Program can be used to support sober living homes out of the area for local residents. Who can apply: individuals with behavioral or substance use disorders, homeless or becoming homeless within the next 30 days, local residents only in Inyo, Mono, or Alpine counties. Requirements: no back pay on rent, landlords must give W9, must pass inspection, must meet with housing navigator weekly while on program, other requirements will apply, cannot be combined with other housing assistance programs.

Services: Wild Iris Advocates are available 24 hours a day to respond to sexual assault and domestic violence crises. Call or text our hotline at 1-877-873-7385 to connect with someone immediately. Both offices in Bishop and Mammoth Lakes are open for walk-in or scheduled appointments Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. When you call, you will be connected with a trained counselor who will listen and provide support. All calls are confidential and you can choose to remain anonymous. Every situtation is different. Crisis counselors may ask you if you are currently in a safe place to talk and how they can provide the support you need.

Crisis counselors will discuss your situation and your options with you, and support the decisions you make for yourself and your family. They can provide:

• Emergency Shelter: available for individuals fleeing unsafe situations
• Safety planning: trained peer counselors are available to assist in safety planning and provide you with valuable information to consider when you are in a dangerous situation, or are planning to leave an abusive relationship.
• Information & Referrals: peer counselors can help you locate community programs and resources that may benefit you during your times of need.

Services: The Bishop Paiute Tribe’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps eligible low-income households manage and pay home energy costs. Website: Bishop Paiute Tribe Tribal Elders

Services: The Firewood Assistance Program helps eligible Bishop Paiute Tribal Elders heat their homes during the winter by providing split firewood, wood pellets, or limited fuel reimbursement. Assistance is available to enrolled Bishop Paiute Tribal members age 55 and older who live on the Bishop Paiute Reservation and have a functional wood or pellet stove. Firewood is distributed based on need and availability and is not guaranteed. Application is online.

Services: Utility Assistance is offered to City of Bishop residents who have a residential utility account and are currently enrolled in an income-qualified assistance program such as CalFresh or Medi-Cal. Applicants provide proof of participation in the eligible program at the time of their application. Visit the Public Works website or City Hall to complete your application.

Services: The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides energy bill assistance to eligible households experiencing difficulty paying their utility costs. LIHEAP may help with electricity, propane, fuel oil (kerosene), wood, and wood pellets, as well as emergency situations such as disconnection notices or the repair and replacement of essential heating, cooling, or water heating equipment. Eligibility is based on household income and a priority point system that considers factors such as high energy burdens, elderly household members, people with disabilities and/or medical life-threatening conditions, and children ages 5 and under.
