Services: PearsonVue Testing Center is located at Cerro Coso Community College’s Bishop Campus and offers testing services one day each month (except July). Many certification and licensing programs require an exam as the final step, and the testing center provides a convenient local option for completing these requirements. Individuals can search for their exam, review available testing options, locate a test center, access program-specific guidelines and FAQs, and schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments.

Services: Family Formation Summer Youth Employemnt: Building Bright Futures program is designed to provide safe, supportive, and on-the-job training for young people (14-25 years of age) in the Bishop Paiute Tribe’s service area. The program aims to promote personal growth, social skills, and employability skills for young people to start their job experience. This program will be offered during the summer for 8 weeks.

Services: The Workability program through Inyo County Office of Education offers students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) the opportunity to complete high school education while also obtaining marketable job skills. Workability provides students with an understanding of job-seeking and job-keeping skills. The employability of students improves through on-the-job subsidized or unsubsidized work experience. The Workability program seeks employers in the business community who will give students with disabilities a chance to prove themselves in a competitive integrated employment setting. Local WAI program sites successfully coordinate state and local service providers to offer comprehensive services tailored to local economic, social, and geographic needs and abilities.

Services: The Eastern Sierra Foundation Scholarship supports eligible Inyo County students, including residents of Benton and Chalfant, in pursuing higher education through Cerro Coso Community College’s Bishop Campus and approved online programs. The scholarship reduces financial barriers by covering approved course enrollment fees and providing up to $500 toward required textbooks, as funding allows. The scholarship is available to California residents who have lived in the state for at least one year and helps students continue their education while maintaining academic progress and good standing.

How to Apply: Students can apply for the Eastern Sierra Foundation Scholarship through Cerro Coso Community College. Applicants must complete required enrollment steps, including orientation, creating an approved education plan with the Bishop Campus Counseling Team, registering for approved courses, and completing financial aid or California Dream Act requirements if applicable. Students are encouraged to apply during priority registration periods.

Services: The Inyo Promise offers two pathways to higher education for Inyo County students. Students can start at Cerro Coso Community College's Bishop Campus and apply for a full scholarship through the Eastern Sierra Foundation, which covers in-state enrollment fees plus up to $500 per semester for books; they can then transfer to UNR with WUE or Pack Exchange tuition benefits based on their transfer GPA, offering savings of approximately $4,988 to $7,152 per semester. Alternatively, Inyo County high school graduates can enroll directly at UNR as freshmen, qualifying for the same WUE or Pack Exchange savings based on GPA or standardized test score requirements. All Inyo County graduates attending UNR as freshmen also receive an additional $1,000 scholarship from the Inyo County Office of Education, regardless of WUE or Pack Exchange eligibility. Together, these pathways make a four-year degree significantly more affordable, whether students start locally or go straight to UNR.

Website: Bishop Paiute Tribe – Bishop Indian Education Center

Services: The Education Center offers after-school tutoring for students in grades 1–8, with an emphasis on reading and math. Evening tutoring is also available for high school students and adults needing assistance with academic subjects. Tutoring runs Monday through Thursday, with Friday and weekend sessions available upon request.
